My walk has been a lifelong journey. My earliest childhood memory is sitting on my mother's lap, listening as she read the Bible. I consider myself very fortunate to have come from a family where God was always first and foremost in our lives, and I thank God for them every day.
Like most teenagers though I had a rebellious streak a mile wide, and I thought that I didn't need anyone to tell me what to do. In the fall of 1999 my Grandmother died, and I fell into a tailspin of depression. Not sure what to do, I dropped out of school and began to abuse alcohol, pills and marijuana to try and ease the pain. But even through the worst of my times, I always felt God with me, trying to guide me back to Him; back to where I belonged.
In 2003, I began reading the Word again and recommitted myself to Christ. I began going to the Newark Vineyard Church and began playing in the worship band with my brother in-law Jason. In 2007, the Vineyard had an outdoor concert. It was there that I first heard Windrush. I was blown away by their unique style and powerful lyrics. A few weeks later, I had an invite to come and tryout for the band. We immediately meshed. It felt like it was meant to be. I thank God for the opportunity to play with and grow this ministry with my brothers.
